Erin Kamen and Elly Giese both won
their singlesmatches to improve to 10-1 on the
season, but host Georgetown won four of the six
singles matches to post a 6-3 non-league women's
tennis victory over the University of Delaware
Saturday afternoon. Kamen defeated Missy Mendez
6-3, 6-3 at the No. 4 singles spot and Giese, a
freshman, downed Caroline Marshall at the No. 5,
but they were the only singles wins the Blue Hens
(7-4) could manage in their final dual meet of the
fall season. Kamen (Central Bucks East, Pa./Lake
Forest, IL) improved to 47-5 in her career, moving
into the No. 4 spot on the UD career singles
victory list. Blue Hen freshman Martine
Street (Williams/ Burlington, NC) suffered just
her second loss of the season in singles play to
fall to 5-2 at the No. 6 spot. Giese teamed with
Ashley Roeting posted the Hens' lone doubles
victory, an 8-5 win over Marshall and Rachel Gates
at the No. 3 spot.
