North-South Rumble at New Hampshire Delaware vs. Hartford Oct. 2, 1998 at 12:00 noon W 8-1
The University of Delaware women's tennis team
won all six singles matches in straight sets to
open the America East North-South Rumble with an
8-1 victory over Hartford at the University of New
Hampshire. The Blue Hens, who improved to 3-0 with
their 45th win in their last 46 matches since 1995,
will take on Vermont today (Saturday) at 3 p.m.
Picking up straight set singles victories for the
Blue Hens were Kristin Wasniewski at No. 1,
Karen Greenstein at No. 2, Tracy
Guerin at No. 3, Erin Kamen at No. 4,
Elly Giese at No. 5, and Rachel
Dencker at No. 6. Wasniewski extended her
school record with her 21st straight singles
victory. The Hens are now a perfect 18-0 in singles
play this season. Also winning for the Hens were
the No. 1 doubles team of Wasniewski and Dencker at
No. 1 and Greenstein and Guerin at No. 2.
