BURLINGTON, VT -- The University of Delaware women's tennis team moved closer to its first ever NCAA Tournament appearance as the Blue Hens defeated New Hampshire 9-0 in the America East Tournament semifinals Saturday evening at the University of Vermont.

The No. 2 seed Blue Hens (17-8), who won their seventh straight match, will take on top seed Boston University, a 9-0 semifinal winner over Towson, in the championship match Sunday at 12 noon. The winner earns an automatic berth into the upcoming NCAA Tournament.

The Blue Hens have finished as America East runners-up each of the last five seasons and will be looking to claim their first conference title since winning the 1988-89 East Coast Conference crown.

The Hens won all six singles matches in straight sets as Kristin Wasniewski, Karen Greenstein, Erin Kamen, Tracy Guerin, Elly Giese, and Martine Street all were victorious. Giese, a freshman, won her 18th straight match to improve to 24-1 on the season while Kamen improved to 21-4 on the year.
