Wall Hens' Lone Winner in Final Tune-up Before America East Tournament

 

EASTON, PA -- Lafayette won six of the six singles matches to post a 6-1 non-league women's tennis victory over the University of Delaware Tuesday afternoon.

The Blue Hens, playing in their final tune-up before the start of this weekend's America East Championships at Yale University in New Haven, CT, had a three-match win streak snapped to fall to 5-4 on the season.

Delaware got its only victory at No. 5 singles where freshman Danielle Wall remained undefeated on the season, defeating Monika Serrano 7-5, 6-2 to improve to 8-0 on the season.

The Blue Hens had several streaks snapped as UD freshman Jessica Quittman fell at No. 6 singles to Ali Kelley 6-3, 6-1 to end a seven-match win streak and fall to 6-2 on the season.

Quittman and Anisha Talati lost 8-3 to Lafayette's Serrano and Kelley at No. 3 doubles to end their seven-match winning streak and drop to 7-2 on the year.

Talati lost at No. 4 singles to Felicia Turturiello by a 6-1, 4-6, 10-7 score to snap her three-match win streak.
