Sept. 29, 2001 Giese picks up career win No. 41
PHILADELPHIA -- Elly Giese moved into No. 8 on the school's all-time singles win list as Delaware swept St. Joseph's, 7-0, in the Blue Hens' season opener. Giese defeated Jance Hoy, 6-2, 6-7 (7-4), 7-5 to move to 41-25 in her collegiate career. Giese also teamed with Jessica Wilkes to defeat Hoy and Pilar Glodzik in doubles action, 8-4. Delaware is now 15-1 all-time against St. Joseph's. The Blue Hens travel to West Chester on Wedneday for a 3 p.m. match. AGATE Delaware 7, St. Joseph's (PA) 0 Singles: Elly Giese (D) def.
