Hens Fall in First Spring Action

BETHLEHEM, PA -- The University of Delaware men's and women's tennis teams both fell to Lehigh University on Saturday afternoon, with the women losing by a score of 6-1 and the men 5-2. Both teams were in action for the first time this spring.

Sari Shuster picked up the lone win for the Delaware women, downing Gwen Dwyer 7-5, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. With the win, she improves to 7-5 this season. The loss evens the Hens record at 3-3 this season.

On the men's side, Adam Liebman evened his record at 6-6 with a win over Ryan Lloyd, 7-5, 6-3 while Josh Ditman improved to 7-5 with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Alfredo Fernandez-Conana. Ditman also upped his career record to 21-12 while Liebman is now 17-20 for his career. In doubles, Ditman and Ari Zweig downed Ty Esler and Alfredo Fernandez-Concha, 9-7. The loss drops the Hens to 6-3 this season.

The women's team returns to action March 8 when it hosts Lafayette at 3 p.m. while the men take on Maryland in College Park at noon on March 6.
