Hen Women's Tennis Stays Unbeaten with 7-0
Victory over Saint

NEWARK,
DE -- Susan Pollack, Sari Shuster, and
Katie Miller all won two matches on the
day as the University of Delaware women's
tennis team stayed unbeaten with a 7-0
victory over Saint Joseph's Wednesday
afternoon at the Delaware Field House
Courts.
Pollack
downed Saint Joseph's Nicole Morrison 6-0,
6-1 at No. 1 singles, Shuster downed
Michelle Savage 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 2
spot, and Miller upended Dina DiGiacomo
7-6 (8-6), 6-3 at the No. 4 spot to lead
the Hens in singles play. The win was the
300th victory in Delaware history,
improving the Hens to 300-193 all-time in
32 seasons since 1973.
Pollack
and Shuster then teamed for an 8-2 win
over Morrison and Jessica Swanderski at
the No. 1 doubles spot and Miller teamed
with Brittany Barsky for an 8-1 win over
Savage and Erika Guers at the No. 2
spot.
The
Blue Hens, who were making their home
debut, improved to 5-0 in dual action this
fall. Delaware will return to action Oct.
5 when the Blue Hens host Villanova.
Also
picking up singles victories for the Blue
Hens were Jamie deGraffenreid at No. 3 and
Stefanie Riddle at No. 6 singles. Saint
Joseph's picked up its only win at No. 3
doubles as DiGiacomo and Marisa Donelson
teamed for an 8-4 win over Marissa Singer
and Perlow.
Pollack
and Perlow each improved to 9-0 on the
season while deGraffenreid improved to 6-0
and Miller to 5-0. Delaware is now 56-9 in
doubles action this seasonand 23-4 in
doubles play.
