Women's Tennis Sweeps Doubles But Falls to
UMBC 6-1

-- The University of Delaware women's
tennis team swept all three doubles
matches to earn a point but lost all six
singles matches and dropped a 6-1
non-league decision to UMBC Monday
afternoon.
The Blue
Hens fell to 11-4 on the season with their
second straight loss. Delaware will return
to action Wednesday when the Hens travel
to Colonial Athletic Association foe
Drexel.
Delaware's
Susan Pollack and Alexa Dragonette downed
Ale Pedergnana and Aimee Lim 8-3 at No. 1
doubles, Brittany Barsky and Katie Miller
defeated UMBC's Adriana Fonseca and
Elizabeth Anderson 8-6 at No. 2, and Liz
Perlow (right) and Sari Shuster were 8-5
winners over Pascaline Cette and Idil Un
at the No. 3 spot.
Miller and
Barsky improved to 9-4 overall on the
season
In singles
action, Pollack fell to Pedergnana 7-6
(7-5), 2-6, 10-7 at the No. 1 spot, Perlow
dropped a 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 decision to Lim at
No. 2, Shuster fell to Fonseca 3-6, 7-5,
6-0 at No. 3, Dragonette fell to Anderson
6-2, 6-3 at the No. 4 spot, Brittany
Barsky had her five-match win streak
snapped with a 6-0, 6-1 setback to
Pascaline Cette, and Miller dropped a 6-4,
6-2 decision to Un at the No. 6 position.
