WEST POINT, NY -- Amanda Campbell and Susan Pollack won two doubles matches as the University of Delaware women’s tennis team competed in the Wilson/Intercollegiate Tennis Association East Regional Championships held at Army Saturday through Monday.
Campbell and Pollack, the 16th seed in the doubles draw, defeated Lauren Galatie and Pam Pillo of Sacred Heart, 8-0, in the round of 64 and posted a 9-7 victory over Mary Napier and Kristen Nordstrom of James Madison in the round of 32 on Sunday. They then fell to top-seeded Melissa Anderson and Elsa O’Riain of Harvard, 8-3, in the round of 16 on Monday, dropping their first match of the season after opening the year with 14 straight victories.
Pollack also competed in the singles draw on Saturday, receiving a bye in the round of 128 before falling to Janet Kim of Yale 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 in the round of 64. Pollack is now 8-3 on the season and 27-12 in her career for the Blue Hens.
The tournament concluded the 2005 fall season for the Blue Hen women’s tennis team.
