WASHINGTON, DC -- The University of Delaware women’s tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision at Georgetown Sunday afternoon.

The Blue Hens fall to 1-2 on the season with the loss, while the Hoyas improve to 1-0 on the year.

Delaware fell behind early after losing the doubles point, as Susan Pollack and Amanda Campbell defeated Liz Winokur and Adriann Gin, 8-3, at No. 1 for the Hens only doubles victory.

In singles, Pollack recorded a 6-0, 6-1 win over Winokur at No. 1 singles, while Courney Olsen defeated Campbell 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2. Stephanie Cohen edged Liz Perlow 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3, while Alexa Dragonette (right) needed three sets to defeated Adriann Gin 4-6, 6-4, 10-8 at No. 4.

Pollack is now 18-0 on the year for the Hens with nine victories each in singles and doubles.

The Hoyas’ Kelsey Darnell defeated Sari Shuster 6-3, 6-2 at No. 5 and freshman Elena Berry recorded a 6-0, 6-2 win over Briana Kerney at No. 6.

Delaware returns to action Friday when it travels to Old Dominion for a weekend long tournament.
