RICHMOND, VA -- Delaware senior Susan Pollack has been named Colonial Athletic Association Singles Player of the Week in women's tennis after posting a perfect 3-0 singles record in the Blue Hens' three matches last week.

Pollack (at right), a native of Wyomissing PA who has starred at No. 1 singles since her freshman year, has gone 16-5 at the top spot this season for the Blue Hens. She started her week with a 6-4, 6-1 rout of Bethune-Cookman's Monika Musilova, leading the Hens to a 7-0 shutout of the Wildcats on Tuesday. Three days later, in a 4-2 victory over UNC Wilmington, she stayed hot by defeating the Seahawks' Priscilla Roberts by a 6-1, 6-3 margin. Pollack capped off her flawless week in style on Saturday, easing past James Madison's Rebecca Erickson 6-1, 6-2 as the Hens scored their first-ever win over JMU on Saturday.

With 65 career singles victories to her credit, Pollack ranks fourth on Delaware's all-time list. She has played every singles match of her career at the No. 1 slot.

The standout senior was also named CAA Singles Player of the Week as a freshman in 2005, taking the honor for the week of March 23.

Pollack has also excelled in doubles play, collecting a school-record 68 wins.

Delaware (9-1, 4-0 CAA), off to its best start since the 2004-05 season, puts its perfect CAA record on the line today at Towson.
