PHILADELPHIA, PA -- The University of Delaware women's tennis team swept all six singles matches - all in straight sets - in a 7-0 win at Saint Joseph's on Wednesday.

The Hens, coming off solid performances in two early-season tournaments, improved to 1-0 on the season behind the play of senior standout Susan Pollack (right). The Blue Hen star, the team's No. 1 player for the last three-plus seasons, cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 win over Stephania Velazquez at first singles.

Pollack's 54th career singles win moved her out of a seventh-place tie with Elly Giese on Delaware's all-time list.

Senior Brittany Barsky (right) also moved up the UD rankings with a 6-0, 6-1 drubbing of Katie Borden at sixth singles. Barsky now has 56 career wins, good for fifth all-time.

Freshmen Courtney Fenimore and Ivana Petrich continued to impress in their first year under head coach Laura Travis, posting easy wins at No. 2 and No. 5 singles, respectively.

Sophomore Elena Berry, meanwhile, topped Gina DiGiacomo 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3. Senior Alexa Dragonette kept UD perfect in singles with a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Maggie Mullaney at the No. 4 spot.

Pollack and Fenimore rolled past their Hawk opponents, 8-3, at first doubles, while Dragonette and Barsky followed suit at No. 3.
