TOWSON, MD -- The University of Delaware women's tennis team stormed past Towson by a 7-0 score on Tuesday afternoon at the Towson Center Courts to remain unbeaten in the Colonial Athletic Association and match its best overall start since the 2004-05 campaign.

Senior No. 1 Susan Pollack got the Hens started with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Towson's Evelyn Izaguirre, while freshman Courtney Fenimore eased past the Tigers' Cassandra Ng 6-1, 7-5 in second-singles action and sophomore Elena Berry notched her ninth consecutive win at No. 3 by downing Amanda Scatuorchio in a 6-0, 6-2 straight-setter.

The UD dominance continued at fourth singles, as junior Amanda Campbell (at right) defeated Ashley Peretz of Towson 6-1, 6-2. Senior Alexa Dragonette posted a 6-2, 6-4 win over Natalie Walten at the fifth slot, and freshman Ivana Petrich completed the singles sweep with a 6-1, 6-2 rout of Katie Young. The Hens have gone a combined 59-7 (.894) in singles play since the start of the dual-match season.

Delaware captured two of the three doubles matches to secure the final point of the day.

The Blue Hens (10-1, 5-0 CAA) won their fourth consecutive match overall and their 16th in a row over Towson dating back to 1993. The Tigers, meanwhile, fell to 4-13 overall and 0-4 in conference play with their 13th straight setback.

The Hens, off to their best CAA start ever, have recorded five league victories for the first time.

The UD women return to the court on Wednesday, when the Hens visit Georgetown at 2 p.m.
