NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware women’s tennis team dominated day two of its meet against Delaware State on Sunday afternoon at the Delaware Field House and Carpenter Sports Building courts.
The Blue Hens and Hornets finished the first round of singles matches that were rained out on Friday, played the third round of doubles, then skipped the singles round two matches and went right into the playoffs. The two teams did not play the final play-off round though due to the heat.
In the singles matches that were postponed from Friday, Delaware’s Lauren Gruber, Ivana Petrich (at right), Amanda Campbell and Samantha Carnall all went on to win.
Delaware would then go on to sweep all three round three doubles matches and also all three singles round three matches.
