PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The University of Delaware women’s tennis team swept a dual meet against Saint Joseph’s on Monday afternoon in Philadelphia.

Junior Elena Berry improved to 8-2 on the year in first singles play when her opponent Jen Kedzierski retired in the second set. This was her 38th career singles win. Sophomore Megan Doran also improved to 8-2 in second singles by defeating Maggie Mullaney 6-2, 6-3.

Sophomore Ivana Petrich picked up her 30th career win and ninth of the season when she defeated Tristen Reppert 6-1, 6-0 in the no. 3 singles spot. Freshman Lauren Gruber won at no. 4 singles with a 6-2, 6-2 decision over Laura Matz. This was her eighth win of the season.

Senior Amanda Campbell (at right) picked up her 49th career win and passed Lisa Fry (1993-1997) on the all-time career singles wins list at Delaware for sole posession of 11th place. She defeated Katy Borden 6-2, 6-1 at no. 5 singles and improved to 7-1 on the year.

Freshman Samantha Carnall added the final singles win at no. 6 by defeating Krista Contino 6-0, 6-0. She improved to 6-2 on the year.

In exhibition singles play, Kristen Mueller defeated Melissa Glick (8-2) and Alexis Arnos (6-0, 6-0).

In doubles action, Berry and Gruber improved to 6-2 on the year as they defeated Kedzierski and Matz 9-7. Petrich and Carnall also won their match against Contino and Mullaney 8-3. They are now 6-3 on the year.

Doran and Campbell won the final doubles match 8-1 over Reppert and Borden. They improved to 10-1 on the year, and Campbell tied Alexa Dragonette (2004-2008) for second in school history for career (individual) doubles wins with 60.
