SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- University of Delaware women’s tennis players dominated the action, winning 15 of 16 singles matches and seven of eight doubles contests at the season-opening Swarthmore Invitational Saturday afternoon.

The second and final day of the two-day tournament will get underway Sunday morning with championship action. Competing in the tournament is Delaware, Haverford, Johns Hopkins, and host Swarthmore.

Delaware’s Courtney Fenimore and Elena Berry (at right) each won their two matches at Flight A singles, Megan Doran and Lauren Gruber each won two matches at Flight B singles, Samantha Carnall and Ivana Petrich won their two matches at Flight C singles, and Amanda Campbell was unbeaten in two singles matches at Flight D. Kristen Mueller split her two matches at Flight D singles for the Blue Hens.

In doubles action, Delaware’s Flight A teams of Fenimore and Berry and Carnall and Gruber both went undefeated in two matches while in Flight B, the Blue Hens tandem of Campbell and Doran was 2-0. In addition, the team of Petrich and Mueller split their two matches at the Flight B spot.
