Season Ticket Holder of the Month - Amy Fad
Amy has been a season ticket holder since UD began to sell season tickets. She been a fan since her older brother began to take her to the Blue Hen football games when she was three years old in 1939. The games were played on Frazier Field where there was one small section of bleachers that might have seated fifty people. By the time her brother graduated in '41, Amy was allowed to cross the street by herself and headed off for UD football games on her own. The rest is history
My favorite current Blue Hen player?
What a loaded question. All of them.
Favorite Alumni Blue Hen?
Wow. Dozens. But, for obvious reasons, I should stick with 1956, '57, '58, '59 Otto Fad who played all the interior line positions both on offense and defense, usually for all 60 minutes.
Best part of being a season ticket holder?
Being in the same seats, around the same people, many of whom have become good friends. We all bleed blue and gold together.
Best Blue Hen memory?
Nothing can compare to the game when Frank Serpico scored 14 points in ten seconds. He scored a TD, kicked the extra point, kicked off, followed the ball into the end zone, fell on it scoring a second TD, kicked another extra point and kicked off again
