Season Ticket Holder of the Month - Wayne Hanby
Wayne graduated from UD in 1976 with a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice. A native of the state of Delaware, the Hanby family settled in Delaware before it was actually a state. He is also a member of the Blue Hen Touchdown Club and the Delaware Diamonds. Wayne is a retired judge, formerly a Justice of the Peace Courts. He has been a season ticket holder for 41 years and purchased them when he was an under-grad. Currently has 12 seats in Section C right next to his daughter Tricia Hanby Miller, who has ten seats of her own.
Favorite Current Blue Hen:Leon Jackson because of all he does to help the team and special teams performance.
Favorite Blue Hen Alumni: Head Coach K.C. Keeler who attended UD as under-grad; played on national championship football team; graduated; later returned to UD as a Head Coach and lead team to a 2003 National Championship. Now that's called going "full circle". And one of my professors - Dr. John Kelly - for helping me navigate my college career at UD.
Best Part of Being a Blue Hen Season Ticket Holder: 1) Afforded opportunity to be a continued part of the great UD football tradition; 2) Provides a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends, watching top caliber college football; 3) Great entertainment at extremely affordable prces; 4) Given opportunity to attend various UD althletic events as "special guests".
Best UD memory: The trip to Chattanooga, T.N. to support and watch UD win the 2003 National Championship. A great experience and a memory I will carry forever.
