At Delaware: First year transfer from North Carolina State • will sit out 2011 due to NCAA transfer regulations, but will retain year of eligibility.
At North Carolina State: Did not play in 2010 • appeared in six games as a freshman in 2009 with 14 putouts and recording one assist • team went 25-31 in 2009.
High School: Four-year starter and letterwinner at Leonardtown High School as a catcher • also played basketball for four years while playing golf and running cross country for one season.
Personal: Andrew David Burgess • son of David and Lynn Burgess • has two older brothers • grandfather, Hoyle Chancellor, played major league baseball for the St. Louis Browns in the early 1950's • criminal justice major at Delaware.
