At Delaware: Expected to be the starting catcher for the Blue Hens, anchoring the pitching staff • second-year team member • one of two American River College products on the squad, joining senior pitcher Nick Young.
2010: Batted .310 in 100 at-bats while playing in 35 games in his first season at Delaware • the Blue Hens went 14-11 with him starting behind the plate • had 31 hits, eight of which went for extra bases, including six doubles and two home runs • scored 17 runs and knocked in 12 RBI • threw out 14 of 26 runners attempting to steal a base on the year • recorded a season high three hits on two different occassions, first against Manhattan on March 6, and again vs. Towson on April 16 • also recorded three RBI in a game twice first on March 19 against Fairleigh Dickinson and again against Towson on April 16 where he added a double and three runs scored • hit his first home run against FDU on March 19 in a 9-4 win for the Blue Hens • his other home run came against Lehigh in the final of the Liberty Bell Classic in Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia as he lined a one-out solo shot to the flowerbed in left field.
2009 (American River College): Competed at American River Junior College in Sacramento, Calif. • recognized as the team’s top defensive catcher • gunned down seven of 13 attempted base stealers during the season • also finished the year with a .276 batting average.
2008 (Butte Community College): Attended Butte Community College in Oroville, Calif. but did not play baseball.
High School: Played four years for the El Camino Fundamental High School • split time as a catcher and outfielder • earned first team defensive honors during his sophomore and senior seasons • led the squad to two league championships • posted a team-best .985 fielding percentage during his senior season.
