2011: Appeared in 10 games with four starts during his sophomore campaign • posted a 2-1 record with a 5.13 ERA over 26.1 innings of work • opened the year in the bullpen, making his first six appearances of the season as a reliever • held the opposition scoreless in three of those games, including 1.2 hitless frames during a 10-7 victory over George Mason on March 12 • earned his first victory of the season with that effort against the Patriots • continued his strong performance in CAA action with 1.1 spotless innings against UNC Wilmington on April 10 • transitioned to the midweek rotation at the end of April • made his first start against Saint Joseph’s, limiting the Hawks to just one hit over five innings of work while earning his second victory of the season • did not allow an earned run during four of his five starts on the mound, including a victory over Princeton on May 3 and a slim 7-6 setback to ACC foe Maryland on May 10 • teamed with fellow Blue Hen Chad Kuhl to lead the Youse’s Maryland Orioles to their 28th All-American Amateur Baseball Association championship during the summer.
2010: Started seven games on the mound for the Blue Hens as a freshman, making 11 appearances overall • finished 3-4 with one save in 41.2 innings pitched • registered close to a 2 to 1 strikeout to walk ratio with 32 strikeouts, while only allowing 17 walks • earned his first win in a 10-4 victory over in-state rival Delaware State on March 16 after pitching 3.1 innings of relief while giving up no runs and no hits while striking out three • had a career-best eight strikeouts in 6.2 innings pitched on April 11 against UNC Wilmington.
High School: Four-year standout at nearby Caravel Academy • served as both a pitcher and outfielder • posted a 26-4 record and a sub-1.00 ERA during his career • led the team to two state championships • earned Louisville Slugger All-American honors • named to the 2009 Rawlings All-Northeast team • selected as the 2009 Gatorade Player of the Year • three-time first-team All-State selection • competed in the USA Baseball Tournament of Stars in 2008 and 2009 • member of the 2007 USA Baseball National Youth Team • honored as a Perfect Game top prospect • participated in the Blue-Gold game in both baseball and basketball.
