At Delaware: Will compete for playing time in the infield during his freshman campaign.
High School: Starred as a middle infielder for Nazareth High School • earned three letters for his efforts on the diamond while leading the squad to the 2011 district championship • also selected to the Lehigh Valley Carpenter Cup team • hit .451 with 20 RBI and 10 stolen bases over the summer • also posted a perfect 5-0 record on the mound while recording a 1.17 ERA and 21 strikeouts over 30 innings of work • earned two letters in basketball as well, serving as a team captain while helping the squad capture the LVC championship.
Personal: Drew M. Hercik ("her-sick") • son of Michael and Colleen Hercik • his father competed in baseball at East Stroudsburg, while his mother played basketball at ESU • has a younger brother • perennial member of the honor roll for his work in the classroom • majoring in health and physical education at Delaware.
