At Delaware: Will look to continue his progression as a stable member of the bullpen and starting staff.

2011: Split time between the bullpen and starting rotation during his sophomore campaign • appeared in 12 games with five starts while posting a 3-1 record • struck out 37 batters in just 37.1 innings of work • following a relief appearance against No. 9 Arizona State in his season debut, he transitioned into a new role as the anchor of the midweek rotation • earned a victory in his first start of the year after scattering three runs over five innings of work against Quinnipiac on March 15 • fired three scoreless frames to go along with five strikeouts against intrastate rival Delaware State on March 22 • tossed at least five innings in each of his next two starts, highlighted by 5.2 scoreless frames and seven strikeouts against Lehigh during his second victory of the season on April 6 • moved back to the bullpen for his next three games, including a nice effort against Towson on April 15 • fired three innings and struck out six while picking up his third win of the year during Delaware’s 16-7 victory over the Tigers • following his first conference start of the season against Virginia Commonwealth on May 1, he ended the year with three consecutive relief appearances • wrapped up the 2011 campaign with 3.2 innings out of the bullpen against Northeastern on May 14 • did not allow a home run during the season • starred for the New York Atlantics of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League over the summer • earned a spot on the All-Star team after posting a 2.76 ERA while striking out 58 batters in just 42.1 innings of work • earned his first win of the season during the playoffs as he helped the Atlantics advance to the semifinals.

2010: Played in nine games with eight games as a freshman at Delaware • pitched 36.1 innings, finishing the year with an even 2-2 record and a 7.18 earned run average • struck out 36 batters on the season while allowing just 26 walks • struck out nine batters in a game twice • earned his first collegiate win against Temple on April 21, tossing six innings of shutout baseball, striking out nine and allowing only two hits in a 13-0 victory for the Blue Hens • pitched five innings, striking out five, against Hofstra on May 8 where, with the help of the offense, he picked up his second win over the season with a 25-10 victory • struck out nine batters in a 14-8 win over Penn on Apr. 6 but did not get the decision.

High School: Four-year member of the Roslyn High School baseball team • served as a starting pitcher during his final two campaigns • earned All-Conference honors for his performance as a junior • also named his team’s Most Valuable Player.

Personal: Matthew Scott "Matt " Soren ("soarin") • son of Joel and Hidi Soren • has two older sisters • served as a baseball instructor at Unlimited Baseball • sport management major at Delaware.
