At Delaware: Second-year reliever will add depth to the Blue Hens bullpen during sophomore campaign in Newark.
2012: Made six appearances out of the bullpen for the Blue Hens during freshman season • did not factor in a decision with a 9.64 ERA (10 ER/9.1 IP), 12 hits, 3 walks and 5 strikeouts • made UD debut on Feb. 18 at Houston • registered back-to-back scoreless appearances from Apr. 11 at Saint Joseph’s through Apr. 14 at VCU where he threw 3.1 hitless innings of relief with one strikeout • tossed season-high 3.0 innings on the mound on Apr. 11 at Saint Joseph’s • tallied two multi-strikeout appearances on Mar. 7 at Delaware State and Mar. 16 vs. UNCW.
High School: Excelled on the mound and in the outfield for Kennett High School • earned three letters for his efforts on the diamond • garnered first team All-Area and All-League accolades as a senior • finished the 2010 season with a .400 batting average while leading the league in home runs • also competed with the All-Star Baseball Academy • earned three letters for his performance as a guard on the basketball team as well.
Personal: Luke Coldeway Alicknavitch ("ahlick-novitch") • son of Matt and Kim Alicknavitch • both of his parents are Delaware graduates, and his mother competed in women’s lacrosse for the Blue Hens • has an older sister • enjoys sailing and fishing in his down time • majoring in biology at Delaware.
