Final Future Hens Club Event and Mothers Day Bingo Set For May 8

NEWARK, Del. - - With the spring schedules winding down, the University of Delaware Athletics Marketing Department has announced one final Future Hens Club event for the 2010-11 academic year. There will also be a special event in honor of Mothers Day.
On Sunday, May 8, the Future Hens Club will host a Picnic in the Park event during Delaware’s baseball game against Old Dominion in the Hens’ final home series in Colonial Athletic Association play. Action is set for 1 p.m. at Bob Hannah Stadium.
All young fans are invited to sign up for the Future Hens Club at a discounted rate of $5 per youth and to participate in this special event. Membership is open to all Blue Hen fans in 8th grade or younger and valid until June 2011.
Parents can register their children for the Future Hens Club by visiting the online registration form.
Youngsters will play in a tee-ball game hosted by the Delaware softball team and receive a hot dog and a special treat. Future Hens Club members will also have the chance to run onto the field with their favorite Blue Hens baseball players as part of the Starting Nine during the national anthem.
During the game, all mothers are invited to participate in a special edition of Mother’s Day Baseball Bingo for the chance to win a gift basket from Town and Country Salon.
