• 2011 Delaware Season Statistics

At Delaware: Considered the most versatile member on an offensive line that returns four starters and is considered one of the top units in the nation…fourth-year member of the Blue Hens who has the ability to play all five offensive line positions and has also lined up at tight end position in short-yardage situations…has appeared in 16 career games…enters the fall as the sixth man on the depth chart and is projected as the No. 2 left tackle behind All-CAA selection Shea Allard…expected to continue to play on special teams as a key component to the field goal protection team…did not play in spring game due to a leg injury….honor student who is tied for the highest grade point average on the team.

2010 Season: Enjoyed an outstanding season as he earned his second letter as a backup offensive lineman...saw most of his time playing on short-yardage downs or field goal protection...used as a blocking tight end and had to change his number mid-game to No. 93...solid reserve player on an offensive line that helped the team rank No. 2 in the CAA in total offense (401.8 yards per game), rushing offense (184.4 yards per game), and scoring offense (27.9 points per game)...earned CAA All-Academic honors...team went 12-3 and advanced to the FCS national title game under head coach K.C. Keeler.

2009 Season: Earned first letter as key backup on offensive line…saw action in three games and started two contests…made collegiate debut as a backup center in season opener vs. West Chester…pressed into duty at mid-season due to illness to Shea Allard and played key role as a starter in back-to-back wins over Massachusetts and Towson…earned Blue Hen Touchdown Club Offensive Player of the Week Award vs. UMass…key member of an offensive line that allowed the Blue Hens to pass for 243.4 yards per game (No. 2 in CAA) and tally up 355.0 yards of total offense…one of seven returning offensive lineman who saw game action last year…team finished 6-5 under Keeler.

2008 Season: Did not see game action as a first-year player and retained freshman eligibility...was outstanding in pre-season drills and during the season and moved up to No. 2 on the depth chart but did not see action.

High School: Played at nearby Newark High School for head coach Butch Simpson...played both offensive and defensive line positions...led Newark High School to four state playoff appearances, two state title game appearances, and the state title in 2004...two-time All-State selection who earned first team honors at both offensive tackle and defensive tackle in 2007...had 44 tackles, including 21 solo hits, six tackles for loss, and two fumble recoveries in 2007...third team All-State offensive lineman as a junior in 2006...three-time All-Blue Hen Conference selection...served as team captain as both a junior and senior...earned Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete Award and 2007 Newark High School Principal and Athletic Director awards...played in annual Blue-Gold High School All-Star Game at Delaware Stadium during the summer...earned Blue Gold All-Star Game Hand-in-Hand Award...was recruited by several other CAA schools.

Personal: Charles Evan “Chad” Davis...born July 3, 1990...son of David and Lori Davis...has two sisters...honor student as a political science major with minors in legal studies and history…served an internship with then Delaware U.S. Congressman Michael Castle in 2010...both parents are University of Delaware graduates...father works in biotechnology and mother is a teacher...mother, Lori (Noble), competed for the Blue Hen swimming and diving team...enjoys fishing, snowboarding, and going to the beach in his spare time.
