NEWARK, Del. -- The nationally-ranked University of Delaware football team wasn’t the only winner on Oct. 8 when the Blue Hens defeated Colonial Athletic Association rival William & Mary 21-0 at Delaware Stadium.
As part of the inaugural Cockpit Drive for Five promotion, four lucky University of Delawarestudents won grand prizes for their participation during the game.
Random drawings took place throughout the game with the winning numbers corresponding to wrist bands that were distributed to the students who attended the game. The four winners then had the opportunity to lead the Blue Hen football team out of the tunnel and on to the field the following week vs. Massachusetts.
Freshman Alexandra Rosen was the grand prize winner as she took home a $5,000 cash prize when her number was drawn by head coach K.C. Keeler immediately after the game.
In addition to Rosen’s lucky night, freshman Michael Junkin won an i Pad2, junior MichaelNorman took home an airline gift card, and freshman Jennifer Parr was the recipient of a $250 VISA gift card.
