Annual University of Delaware Band Day Sponsored by Louviers Federal Credit Union Set for this Saturday

NEWARK, Del. -- Over 1,200 high school band members from throughout the region will be on hand at Delaware Stadium this Saturday night as Delaware’s annual Band Day takes place as part of the Delaware vs. West Chester football game.
The event, sponsored by Louviers Federal Credit Union, annually attracts some of the top high school bands in the region. The bands will join the University of Delaware Marching Band as well as the West Chester University Marching Band for a performance at halftime. The musical selections will include "You Shook Me All Night Long" by AC/DC and "Thundering Stars," a patriotic tribute in conjunction with Military and Service Appreciation Day.
Among the area schools taking part in this year’s annual Band Day festivities are Saucon Valley High School (Pa.), Polytech HS (Del.), Elkton HS (Md.), Sussex Tech HS (Del.), Saint Thomas More Preparatory HS (Del.), North East HS (Md.), Northern HS (Md.), Skyline Middle School (Del.), Hammonton HS (N.J.), Aberdeen HS (Md.), Newark HS (Del.), Christiana HS (Del.), Milford HS (Del.), Patterson Mill HS (Md.), and Millville HS (N.J.).
For the second straight year, Louviers Federal Credit Union is providing each of the high school band members a complimentary yellow t-shirt that will be worn while they are performing in formation.
“When the University of Delaware needed a sponsor for the game last year, Louviers Federal Credit Union was happy to step in and help,” said Louviers President and CEO James Everhart, Jr., said. “The credit union places great importance on helping Delaware youth make the tough transition from high school to college. Sponsoring this event is just one of the ways we can help students and give back to our community.”
