University of Delaware Athletics Sponsoring Back to School Events for Kids of All Ages Later this Month

NEWARK, Del. -- With the new school year right around the corner, University of Delaware Athletics is sponsoring two fun events for Blue Hen fans of all ages later this month.
Delaware will host the inaugural Blue Hens Back 2 School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 25 at the Christiana Mall and just five days later will welcome fans back with special discount prices for the Delaware football season opener set for Thursday, Aug. 30 vs. West Chester at Delaware Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
The Blue Hens Back 2 School Bash will be held in the jcpenney Court on Aug. 25 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Delaware fans will have the chance to join the UD spirit teams and their favorite mascot, YoUDee, to kick-off the season with family fun, special performances, giveaways, and exclusive Meet & Greets.
Fans will have the opportunity to take photos and interact with some of their favorite UD student-athletes, including members of this year’s Blue Hen football team, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. WDSD 94.7 FM will also be on hand to broadcast a live remote.
Later in the week, join the Delaware football team as the Blue Hens go back to school for the season opener Aug. 30 at Delaware Stadium. Start your night with fun, family-friendly entertainment outside the west main entrance beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Special discounted Blue Hens Back 2 School tickets are on sale now for just $12.13 (a 55 percent savings) in celebration of the 2012-13 academic year. Be sure to bring your camera as your young Blue Hens fans walk the red carpet Disney style. A special Back 2 School giveaway for the first 1,000 young Blue Hen fans 12 & under will also take place.
Also be sure to stop by and the join the Blue Hens as they gear up for "Back to School" with Future Hens Club incentives and giveaways for fans 12 & under. The Coors Light Coop, adjacent to the Fan Zone, will also be open pregame for fans 21 & older to enjoy beverages, food and live NCAA football gameday coverage
with fellow Blue Hen fans.
