Delaware Football Places 14 Student-Athletes on Colonial Athletic Association Academic All-Conference Team

RICHMOND, Va. -- The University of Delaware football squad has placed 14 student-athletes on the 2012 Colonial Athletic Association Football Academic All-Conference Team, the league announced recently.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher for his entire academic career. Transfers and first-year freshman are eligible.

Blue Hen student-athletes named to the team were freshman kicker freshman defensive back Craig Brodsky (Orange Park, Fla.), sophomore linebacker Patrick Callaway (Decatur, Ga.), senior defensive lineman Ethan Clark (Essex Junction, Vt.), senior defensive back Derek Coleman (Woodstock, Md.; at right), sophomore wide receiver Chris Cordivari (Downingtown, Pa.), Eric Enderson (Hampton, Va.), redshirt freshman defensive back Eric Farkas (Heathrow, Fla.), redshirt freshman offensive lineman Justin Glenn (Newark, Del.), freshman tight end Joe Laznik (Middletown, Del.), sophomore offensive lineman Christian Marchena (Hazlet, N.J.), junior wide receiver Mike Milburn (Bowie, Md.), freshman running backā€ˆJalen Randolph (Ridley Park, Pa.), freshman linebacker Brandon Snyder (Newark, Del.), and sophomore defensive lineman Laith Wallschleger (Alexandria, Va.).

Clark, Coleman, and Milburn earned the award for the third straight year while Wallschleger, Callaway, Cordivari, Farkas, Glenn, and Marchena all were honored for the second straight year.

Earlier this year, Clark earned a spot on the Capital One/College Sports Information Directors District 2 All-Academic team, was named to the FCS Athletics Directors Association Academic All Star Team, and was a National Football Foundation Campbell Award semifinalist.

Coleman was honored in January at the Blue Hen Touchdown Club Banquet with the Newark Elks Club Award as the senior with the highest cumulative grade point average.

Delaware, led by first-year head coach Dave Brock, will begin spring practice drills in early April in preparation for the annual Blue-White Spring Game to be held on Saturday, May 4, at Delaware Stadium.
