University of Delaware Football Announces Special Dates for 2013 Season; Homecoming Set for Oct. 12

NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware has announced four special events for the 2013 home football schedule at Delaware Stadium.
The special events this season will be High School Band Day (Sept. 21 vs. Wagner), Freshmen Friends and Family Day (Sept. 21 vs. Wagner), Homecoming (Oct. 12 vs. Albany), and Parents and Family Weekend (Nov. 9 vs. William & Mary). The date for Delaware’s annual Hall of Fame induction will be announced at a later date.
Below are details on each of the special events this year at Delaware Stadium:
High School Band Day – Saturday, Sept. 21 vs. Wagner (6 p.m.)
A Blue Hens fan favorite, High School Band Day will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21 this football season. More than a 1,000 high school band members throughout Delaware and the surrounding region will be invited to join the UD Marching Band for this annual event featuring a special half-time performance.
Freshmen Friends & Family Day at Delaware Stadium – Saturday, Sept. 21 vs. Wagner (6 p.m.)
University of Delaware freshmen and their families and friends are invited to Class of 2017 Day at the Saturday, Sept. 21, football game at Delaware Stadium. Special pre-game food and fun for students will be available, along with discounted ticket and hospitality packages for their families and friends. Join us in welcoming our newest Blue Hens to the family.
Homecoming – Saturday, Oct. 12 vs. Albany (3:30 p.m.)
The Office of Alumni Relations in conjunction with the Alumni Association and the Student Homecoming Committee, strive each year to improve and enhance Homecoming traditions. Many of these traditions take place during Homecoming week and on game day itself. Whether you were involved in a Greek Chapter, a club sports team or an RSO, you are encouraged to contact UD Alumni Relations if you are interesting in hosting an event for your group during Homecoming 2013.
Parents & Family Weekend – Saturday, Nov. 9 vs. William & Mary (Noon)
The University looks forward to welcoming back parents and families for another activity-filled weekend. More information on Parents & Family Weekend, sponsored by the Division of Student Life, can be found at www.udel.edu/parents/weekend.
