Delaware Men’s Basketball Receives Votes in CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 Poll For Second Consecutive Week

BOSTON, Mass. -- For the second consecutive week, the University of Delaware men’s basketball team is receiving votes in the current CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 Poll.
After receiving 10 votes in last week’s poll, the Blue Hens are receiving nine votes this week.
Cleveland State remains in the poll’s top spot, followed by Old Dominion, St. Mary’s, Gonzaga, and Wichita State. In addition to the Monarchs, the CAA is represented by Drexel at No. 6, George Mason at No. 7 and VCU at No. 12. James Madison, Delaware and UNC Wilmington are all receiving votes.
Delaware had its five-game winning streak snapped on Saturday when the Blue Hens fell to 10th-ranked Villanova, 78-59, at the Wells Fargo Center. Jawan Carter (at right) led UD with 14 points while Jamelle Hagins added 12 points, eight rebounds and a career-high seven blocked shots.
The Mid-Major Poll is made up of teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Great West, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, and West Coast.
Delaware hosts Penn Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. following the UD women’s home game against Saint Joseph’s beginning at 6 p.m.
