NEWARK, Del. -- University of Delaware men’s basketball head coach Monté Ross and director of operations Saul Rafel-Frankel delivered presents donated to the team’s toy drive to Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children on Tuesday.
The Blue Hens held a toy drive on Monday during the team’s home game against La Salle, and received over 300 gifts for the children. The presents will be given out Christmas Day.
Founded in 1940, the hospital is an 180-bed facility that offers all specialties of pediatric medicine, surgery, and dentistry. Children from birth through age 17 with acute, chronic, and complex health problems benefit from the threefold mission established by the hospital’s founders: excellence in patient care, education, and research.
