December 22, 2011

NEWARK, Del. -- University of Delaware men’s basketball head coach Monté Ross has announced that high school standout Maurice Jeffers has signed a National Letter of Intent with the Blue Hens and will enroll at UD in the fall of 2012.
Jeffers, a 6-8, 215-pound senior forward, is currently enrolled at Calvin Coolidge High School in Washington, D.C. He averaged eight points, 10 rebounds and five blocks per game as a junior at Coolidge, helping the squad to a 21-8 record and a spot in the D.C. Interscholastic Athletic Association semifinals.
“Maurice will fit in with what we are doing here academically, athletically, and socially,” said Ross. “He is a long, athletic post player who will help us down the road. We’re very excited to have him join our family.”
