Numerous Promotions To Be Held Saturday During Delaware Men’s Basketball Home Game vs. VCU

NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware men’s basketball team’s home game against 2011 Final Four participant VCU on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 4 p.m. will feature numerous events and promotions during the Blue Hens’ battle versus the Rams.
Saturday is a “Go BLUE or Go Home” game as UD fans are encouraged to wear Delaware blue, while Go BLUE or Go Home rally towels will be distributed prior to the contest, while supplies last.
The day also features Alumni Hoops Hysteria, as over 30 alumni of the Blue Hen men’s basketball program will be recognized during a special halftime ceremony and will take part in a private post-game reception.
Saturday is also Youth Band Day, as band students from Pocopson Elementary School and Chadds Ford Elementary School will conduct a special halftime performance after their highly successful appearance last season. The contest also features High School Team Day, as all local high school men’s basketball teams have been invited to cheer on the Blue Hens.
Additionally, all fans are welcome to stay following the game for a post-game autograph session with the entire Delaware men’s basketball team on the concourse behind sections 6 and 7.
Also available on Saturday, as well as for every Saturday home game the remainder of the season, is the new Family Fun Zone on the concourse in front of sections 11-14. The Fun Zone, which is open from 3-4 p.m. prior to the contest, includes multiple stations of interactive games, coloring stations, and fun for kids of all ages.
Good seats still remain for the highly-anticipated battle between Delaware and VCU. Fans can purchase tickets at the UD Athletic Ticket Office in the Delaware Field House, Room 101, or by phone at (302) 831-2257.
