Also earlier this week, Dana O'Neil of ESPN.com ranked the non-conference schedules of CAA schools, and the Blue Hens' non-league slate was deemed tied for the toughest. Delaware received an eight of out 10 ranking on the toughness scale, along with George Mason. The Blue Hens open their season at Atlantic 10 foe La Salle and also travel to Temple, Duke and Villanova. Additionally UD could face Virginia in the second round of the NIT Season Tip-Off.

In late September Jon Rothstein, a College Basketball Insider for CBS Sports Network and WFAN, as well as a contributor for cbssports.com, ranked the Blue Hens second in the CAA in his league notebook.
Rothstein included Saddler and Hagins on his CAA Preseason First Team, while Carl Baptiste and Marvin King-Davis were included in his 10 that have waited and will make a major impact. Jarvis Threatt was listed second on Rothstein's list of 10 breakout players, while Terrell Rogers and King-Davis were picked first and second respectively on his list of 10 impact freshmen.
