Delaware Earns Second Seed in 2013 CAA Tournament, Faces No. 7 Seed Hofstra in Quarterfinals on Saturday

RICHMOND, Va. -- The University of Delaware has earned the No. 2 seed in the 2013 Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Championship, presented by Jani-King, and will face seventh-seeded Hofstra on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the tournament quarterfinals.
The Blue Hens went 18-13 during the regular season, winning eight of their final 10 games, and set a school record for CAA victories by finishing 13-5 in league play. Delaware’s second seed is its highest since joining the CAA, as the Blue Hens had previously not been seeded higher than fifth. The Pride went 7-24 overall and 4-14 in the conference.
Other quarterfinal games on Saturday feature No. 4 seed George Mason facing No. 5 seed Drexel at 3:30 p.m. and No. 3 seed James Madison taking on No. 6 seed William & Mary at 8:30 p.m.
Top-seeded Northeastern will face the George Mason/Drexel winner during Sunday’s first semifinal at 2 p.m., followed by the Delaware/Hofstra winner vs. the James Madison/William & Mary winner at 4:30 p.m. The championship game is set for Monday at 7 p.m. All games will be held at the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Va.
The first and third quarterfinal games will be televised live by The Comcast Network, while the Blue Hens’ game with Hofstra will be televised live on COZY TV, channel 248 on the Comcast cable digital tier. It will also be shown on The Comcast Network on tape delay, at a time to be determined. Additionally, all three games will be webstreamed at www.caasports.com. The semifinals and championship game will all be broadcast live on the NBC Sports Network.
Delaware swept the season series with Hofstra this year, posting a 69-54 victory in Newark on Jan. 9 and a 57-56 win in Hempstead on Feb. 27.

Championship ticket books for all three sessions cost $50, while single session tickets are available for $28 per session.
