RICHMOND, Va. -- University of Delaware senior forward Jamelle Hagins was named to the Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Basketball All-Tournament Team following a pair of outstanding performances over the weekend at the Richmond Coliseum.
Hagins recorded double-doubles during both of the Delaware’s contests, becoming the first Blue Hen to earn CAA All-Tournament Team honors. He scored 12 points and grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds during UD’s 62-57 victory over Hofstra on Saturday in the quarterfinals, while also adding three assists, two blocks and two steals in the win.
Hagins posted his 16th double-double of the campaign during Sunday’s 58-57 loss to James Madison in the semifinals, again leading all players with 12 boards to go with 12 points, four assists and four blocks. Additionally Hagins went 8 of 13 from the field for a 61.5 field goal percentage on the weekend, and was 8 of 12 from the foul line.
Hagins upped his school-record rebounds total to 1,078, the fourth most in CAA history, while his 292 blocks put him third in league history. Hagins also now has 36 career double-doubles, four shy of the Delaware record shared by Spencer Dunkley and Harding Nana.
Hagins was joined on the All-Tournament Team by Most Valuable Player A.J. Davis of James Madison, Bryon Allen of George Mason, Rayshawn Goins of James Madison, Jonathan Lee of Northeastern, and Devon Moore of James Madison.Back To Men's Basketball Home Men's Basketball Story Archive
