High School: Standout in cross country and track and field as a distance runner at nearby Salesianum School in Wilmington, Del. • earned eight letters • member of a state champion track and field team in 2007 and state champion cross country squads in 2008 and 2009 • earned first team All-State honors in cross country in 2009 and second team honors in 2008 • finished second individually at the state cross country meet as a senior in 2009 and was seventh as a junior in 2008 • first team All-State in indoor track & field in 200 • National Honor Society student.
