Blue Hen Golfers 12th Following First Day of Season-Opening UNCW Seahawk Invitational

WILMINGTON, N.C. -- The University of Delaware golf team sits in 12th place Sunday following the first day of the UNCW Seahawk Invitational.
The Blue Hens were ninth following a first round team score of 305 but slipped to 338 in the second round to finish the day at 643. Wake Forest leads the very competitive field featuring five top-100 squads at 578, two strokes ahead of East Carolina at 580.
Kevin McLister (at right) was tied for fifth place in the individual standings after shooting an even par 72 during the first round on the par 72, 6,918-yard Nicklaus Course at the Country Club of Landfall. However the senior carded an 81 during the second round and is tied for 36th place with a nine over par 72-81-153.
Junior Greg Matthias fired a 78-83-161, 17 over par, to finish the day in a tie for 58th place, while senior Justin Martinson is tied for 60th after he recorded an 18 over par 74-88-162.
Junior Stephen Scialo fired an 81-86-167 and is 64th at 23 over par, while junior Bobby Arthur is 75th after shooting a 31 over par 83-92-175.
Charlie Harrison of Wake Forest leads the field with a three under par 72-69-141, while Ryan Sullivan of UNC Wilmington is one shot back at 71-71-142.
The invitational concludes Monday with a single round at the Country Club of Landfall.
