The championships will feature a single round on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with split tees beginning at 9 a.m. each day. The winner of the 11-team tournament will earn a bid to the NCAA Championships, with the individual champion also possibly earning an NCAA bid.

Last year the Blue Hens placed eighth at the CAA Championships, and posted their highest finish of fifth during the 2006 season. This year Delaware has claimed the Navy Fall Classic team title, and has finished among the top three in four of its five spring tournaments thus far.

The Blue Hens will be led by senior Stephen Scialo, who has posted a team-best average round of 74.97 this season while recording four top 10 finishes. Scialo placed fourth at the Wildcat Invitational and Rutherford Intracollegiate, and was named the CAA Men’s Golfer of the Week on April 4. Junior Ben Conroy, who also has finished among the top 10 four times on the year, ranks second on the squad with a 75.00 average round. Conway was second at the Navy Fall Classic and sixth in three other tournaments, while earning CAA Co-Men’s Golfer of the Week honors on Sept. 14.

Senior Greg Matthias is averaging 77.03 shots per round during the year, and finished a season-best sixth place at the George Washington Invitational on Mar. 16-17. Freshman Niño Rosal, the CAA Co-Men’s Golfer of the Week on Apr. 18, ranks third on the team with a 76.14 average round and has recorded top four finishes at the George Washington Invitational and Manor Intercollegiate. Sophomore Dan Costenbader, who finished a season-best seventh at the Rutherford Intercollegiate, has posted an average round of 76.33 this season.
