Greg Matthias Cards One Over Par 72 on Saturday, Finishes Tied for 67th Place at NCAA Men’s Golf Ann Arbor Regional

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Delaware senior Greg Matthias recorded his best round of the NCAA Men’s Golf Ann Arbor Regional with a one over par 72 on Saturday to finish in a tie for 67th place at the three-day tournament.
After carding a 78 during his first round and an 80 during his second, Matthias improved to shoot a one over par 72 in his final round on the par 71, 6,723-yard University of Michigan Golf Course, finishing with a 17 over par 78-80-72-230.
Matthias opened his Saturday round with a par on 10, and quickly moved to one under for the day with a birdie on the 11th hole. He then parred the final seven holes of the back nine to finish at 34 halfway through, and then recorded pars on the first six holes of the front nine. Matthias bogeyed 7 and 9 while parring 8, finishing the front nine in 38 and ending up at 38-34-72.
USC captured the team title with a three-round score of 841, while Oregon was second at 842. Kent State finished third at 844, while Virginia was fourth at 846 and TCU came in fifth at 849. Those five teams, along with medalist Albin Choi of North Carolina State who carded a 10 under par 69-66-68-203, will advance to the NCAA Championships on May 29-June 3 in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
The NCAA Ann Arbor Regional concludes the four-year career of Matthias, who earned medalist honors at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships this April and was named to the second team All-CAA.
