Shattuck Ties For Third, University of Delaware Men's Golfers Finish Seventh at Navy Fall Classic

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Blue Hen freshman Braden Shattuck tied for third place in the individual standings while the University of Delaware men’s golf team finished seventh in the team standings this weekend at the Navy Fall Classic.
Shattuck (at right) fired a pair of even par 71 rounds during the weekend on the par 71, 6,528-yard USNA course to tie for third place with a 71-71-142 in just his second tournament as a Blue Hen. Nathan Anderson of North Dakota State earned medalist honors with a four under par 68-70-138, teammate Bill Carlson placed second with a one under par 69-72-141, and Shattuck and North Dakota State’s Trent Olson tied for third at even par.
With three of the top four individuals, North Dakota State easily won the team title at the 15-squad event, posting a two-round score of 565. Saint Bonaventure finished second at 580, Temple was third at 584, Saint Francis (Pa.) came in fourth at 585, and Brown rounded out the top five with a 586 score.
Navy placed sixth at 588 while Delaware, which had claimed the Navy Fall Classic team championship in each of the last two years, posted rounds of 290 and 299 to finish seventh with a 589 score.
UD senior Ben Conroy carded a five over par 74-73-147 to tie for 20th place in the individual standings, while freshman Kyle Martin tied for 28th with a seven over par 79-70-149 in his Blue Hen debut while playing as an individual.
Sophomore Niño Rosal, who carded a 72-78-150, and junior Dan Costenbader, who fired a 73-77-150, each finished at eight over par to tie for 34th place. Junior Corey Wagner tied for 59th place after he carded a 76-80-156, 14 over par.
Delaware will take next weekend off before competing in the Joe Agee Invitational hosted by William & Mary at Colonial Heights Golf Club in Williamsburg, Va. on September 23-25.
