At Delaware: Fourth-year member of the squad and a three-year letterwinner...will battle to take over starting spot on attack with the graduation of All-American Curtis Dickson...has also played midfielder and taken faceoffs during is career at Delaware...looks to close out career with an injury-free season...powerful athlete with good size and speed...will be counted on to be one of the Hens' top scorers...has played in 28 career games with 17 starts and recorded 15 goals and four assists for 19 points...has registered 43 shots and 64 groundballs while winning 94 faceoffs (.522 win pct.).

2010 Season: Earned third career letter as an attackman...had slow start to season due to injuries but finished year as one of the Hens' most reliable scorers....appeared in 10 games with six starts...ranked No. 7 on the team in scoring with 13 points on 11 goals and two assists...scored in five of the final six games of the season, including a team-high four goals in the NCAA Tournament vs. North Carolina...also scored twice vs. Massachusetts, Penn State, and in the CAA semifinal win over Drexel...had 20 shots and also scooped up six groundballs...attempted a season-high eight shots vs. North Carolina and recorded a season-high three groundballs against North Carolina.

2009 Season: Saw action in just two games due to injuries...appeared in contests vs. Saint Joseph's and vs. Fairfield in the first three weeks before missing the remainder of the season...scored only point of the season on an assist vs. Saint Joseph's in the season opener...had three shots on goal for the year.

2008 Season: Appeared in 16 games and started 11...handled most of the face-off duties for the Hens, winning 94 of 180 (.522 percent)...scored five points on four goals and one assist...took 20 shots and put 13 on goal...scooped up a team-high 58 groundballs and caused four turnovers on the season...earned CAA Rookie of the Week on Mar. 24 for his efforts against Villanova which included winning nine of 14 faceoffs and scooping up a team-high six groundballs...scooped up a team season-high 10 groundballs against Stony Brook.

2007 Season: Did not see game action and retained freshman eligibility...key practice player who helped Delaware capture the Colonial Athletic Association title and advance to the NCAA Final Four.

High School: Began high school career at Bayley-Ellard High School in Madison, N.J. before attending Seton Hall Prep School for a post-graduate year in 2005-06...played defense in lacrosse and fullback in football at Bayley-Ellard...earned All-Conference honors in both sports...played football under Jim Delaney at BEHS...played lacrosse for head coach Andrew Decicco at Seton Hall Prep and earned All-Area honors...also played football at Seton Hall Prep.

Personal: Anthony Steven Ruiz ("roo-ease")...born Jan. 31, 1987..nickname is "Ru"....son of Blanca and Hernan Ruiz...political science major at Delaware...traveled to Colombia during the summer of 2008...hobbies include cooking and playing tennis....has worked at a deli and in sales during the summers...oldest of three children...father owns a trucking company.
