At Delaware: Third-year team member of the Blue Hens and a second-year starter in goal •  has great stick skills and reaction in the cage • aiming for an injury-free campaign after missing four games as a freshman • Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-American candidate • only team member from state of Massachusetts.

2012 Season: Earned starting goalkeeping spot in pre-season as a redshirt freshman • took over after graduation of three-year starter Noah Fossner • played in 12 games and made 11 starts • missed late-season games vs. Mercer, Saint Joseph's, and Penn State due to injuries • played 625 total minutes on the season • allowed 105 goals (10.09 goals against average) and recorded 100 saves (.488 pct.) • also ranked fourth on team with 31 groundballs • recorded season-high 15 saves in his collegiate debut in win over Detroit to earn Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week honors • also had 12 saves vs. Johns Hopkins and added nine each vs. Loyola, Mt. St. Mary's, Towson, and Michigan • ranked No. 32 in the NCAA in goals against average and No. 42 in save percentage.

2011 Season: Did not see game action as the team's No. 3 goalkeeper behind starter Noah Fossner and backup Ryan Smith • retained freshman eligibility.

High School: Competed in lacrosse at Xaverian Brothers High School for head coach Tim Gardner • named a first team All-Catholic Conference All-Star as a junior and senior in 2009 and 2010 • was named team Most Valuable Player as a senior in 2010. • led teams to a four-year record of 64-26 • team went 22-1 and lost in the league championship game his freshman year in 2007 • National Honor Society • honor roll student.

Personal: Christopher J.C. "Chris" Herbert • born April 21, 1992 • son of Mike and Deb Herbert • honor student as a political science major with a minor in legal studies at Delaware • has team's highest grade point average • Colonial Athletic Association Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll • has worked at a law firm and as a youth coach during the summer • has a younger brother • enjoys ice fishing in his spare time • color blind • father is an insurance advisor and mother is a legal secretary • father attended Northeastern University • plans to be a lawyer after graduation.
