The Blue Hens (9-4, 4-0 CAA), who posted road wins of 14-11 over Dartmouth and 10-6 over Saint Joseph’s, stayed at No. 19 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Coaches poll and at No. 20 in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse media poll in the rankings.

Delaware, which already earned one of four spots in the CAA Tournament (May 4 & 7) thanks to the CAA win over Saint Joseph’s, will look to nail down a home playoff spot if the Hens can knock off CAA foe Penn State in the final regular season game of the season this Saturday, Apr. 23, at 7 p.m. at Delaware Stadium.

The Blue Hens will honor their 10 seniors prior to the contest and Delaware will also host Military Appreciation Night.

Among the promotions for the game will be an Operation Homefront Drive with fans asked to bring Walmart Gift Cards, household items, or non-perishable food items to be donated to military families. In addition, there will be a t-shirt giveaway and Fan Zone Fun, featuring live music and entertainment from 94.7 WDSD, an Under Armour Freedom Mobile, Blue Hen Bounce House, a letter writing station to deployed service members, and facepainting.

In addition, UD Athletics will host Operation Military Kids and their families from the Dover Air Force Base. A portion of all gameday proceeds will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

A new No. 1 appeared in both polls as undefeated Notre Dame (9-0) took over after previous No. 1 Syracuse fell to Cornell this past week.

In the USILA poll, Notre Dame earned 13 first place votes and 279 total points while Johns Hopkins gained 254 points and the other first place votes. Cornell was at No. 3 followed by Syracuse, Denver, Duke, Maryland, Hofstra, North Carolina, Virginia, Villanova, Bucknell, Penn, Stony Brook, Massachusetts, Colgate, Army, Yale, Delaware, and Loyola. Siena, Harvard, Penn State, Ohio State, Marist, Hartford, and Drexel also received votes.

In the Nike/Inside Lacrosse media poll, Notre Dame earned 12 first place votes and 313 total points while Johns Hopkins was at No. 2 thanks to a single first place vote and 290 points. Cornell was third followed by Syracuse, Denver, Maryland, Duke, Hofstra, Virginia, North Carolina, Villanova, Bucknell, Stony Brook, Yale, Massachusetts, Colgate, Pennsylvania, Army, Loyola, and Delaware.
