The Blue Hen men’s lacrosse squad will be looking to “three-peat” this season under veteran head coach Bob Shillinglaw after capturing the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament title and advancing to the NCAA Tournament each of the past two seasons. Delaware posted a record of 11-7 a year ago, stormed through the CAA Tournament with road wins over Hofstra and Massachusetts, and gave highly-regarded Duke all it could handle before falling to 15-14 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Delaware returns five starters and over 75 percent of its offensive output from last season led by senior Grant Kaleikau, who tied for the team lead in points last season and is regarded as one of the top offensive players in the country. The defense returns several standouts and senior Dan Cooney is one of the top faceoff specialists in the country.

On the women’s side, second-year head coach Kateri Linville will continue to build the Blue Hens and hopes to lead Delaware into the CAA Tournament after missing the league tournament by just one game a year ago when the team posted a record of 8-9.

Delaware will need to replace some of its top offensive threats but a young and energetic group will make Delaware Stadium an exciting place to be this spring. Among the team’s top returning players are defenders Alex Alois, Gracie Wills, and Angela Biciocchi, midfielder Bridget Burns, and attack Shannon Burns.
