2009 Season: Served with Conrad Rusnak as a team co-captain • played in all 19 games, started 17 • tallied a team-high four assists on the season • assisted on goals scored against Rider (Sept. 18), Saint Joseph's (Pa.) (Sept. 23), George Mason (Oct. 14), and VCU (Oct. 31) • took 18 shots having laced seven on goal • named to the Colonial Athletic Association Academic Honor Roll.
2008 Season: Started all 19 matches in the Delaware midfield • ranked fourth on the team in scoring with five points on two goals and one assist • ranked fourth on the team with 31 shots and put 11 on net • scored a goal in each of the 2-2 draws with Marist (Sept. 1) and Rider (Sept. 21) • assisted on the Blue Hens’ goal versus UNC Wilmington (Oct. 25).
2007 Season: Appeared in four matches for the Blue Hens • scored a goal in the season-opener at fourth-ranked Duke (Aug. 31) • recorded two shots on the season.
High School: Four-year letterwinner at West Windsor Plainsboro High School, where he starred at center midfield • named 2006 Princeton Packet Player of the Year • named Midfielder of the Year by Colonial Valley Conference coaches • third team all-state, first team All-CVC, and first team all-area as a senior • also played for Mid Atlantic Soccer Academy Grizzlies club team and New Jersey Olympic Development Program team for four years • played right midfield for regional team as a junior • Spanish National Honor Society member.
Personal: Jonathan Joseph Scheer • son of Alan and Donna Scheer • has a brother, Albert, and two sisters, Jillian and Alexandra • cites brother as biggest influence on soccer career • history education major at Delaware who aspires to become a teacher and soccer coach • worked as a soccer coach over the summer.
