Winkler Top Finisher as University of Delaware Closes Out Season at NCAA Zone A Diving Championships

Athlete photoBLACKSBURG Va. –In the second day of the 2013 NCAA Zone A Diving Championships, three freshman divers, Kristina Congdon , Caitlin Stockwell, and Luke Winkler (at right), represented the University of Delaware at Virginia Tech’s Christianburg Aquatics Center.

During the second day of competition, the women competed in the 1-meter event while the men dove from the 3-meter board.

Congdon was 31st in the 1-meter event with a score of 213.65 while Caitlin Stockwell was was 43rd with a score of 137.35.

Winkler was Delaware’s top performer during Day Two with a score of 251.25 that placed the freshman in 29th place in the 3-meter competition.

Kaylea Arnett of Virginia Tech won the women’s 1-meter event with a score of 305.65 while Danielle Cecco of the University of Connecticut (300.50) was second and Virginia Tech's Logan Kline was third (284.45).

In the men’s 3-meter event, Virginia Tech’s Logan Shinholser was first with a score of 416.20. Rounding out the top three were University of Virginia Jakob Kolod (413.65) and Harvard's Michael Mosca (382.75).

The meet closed out the 2012-13 season for the University of Delaware men's and women's swimming and diving teams.
