High School: Four- year letter winner at Bishop Shanahan High School • received honors in 2011 as an All-Ches-Mont League first team performer • All-State in the 100 back and a part of the All-State 200 freestyle relay team.
Personal: Brenden Michael McCarthy • son of John and Jeanne McCarthy • older brother, Matthew McCarthy, is currently a junior who also swims for Delaware • has a young sister, Meghan McCarthy • has not declared a major.
